AC repair

I have purchased Hitachi AC 1.5 tonnes (Model number: RAC018HQDP, Machine no-101B04536) on 05.04.2010 from Pantaloon’s store. Technician reported on “Remote function inefficiency” at the time of installation but did not provide any support for the same.


The AC remained unused for 2 years WITHOUT BEING SERVICED. Finally when we used it, there was a sound coming from the AC at the time of start. Also the remote was not functioning. We had to call the company for the repair service. On 30.05.12, a person came from Hitachi. After looking at the problems, he charged Rs 385 for nothing (Complain request no-12052500137). The sound continued on the next day. He only identified that there is a problem in the censor of the remote control system, inside the AC unit.

I strongly recommend that the piece may be exchanged as soon as possible. Otherwise I may have to go to consumer forum and file a case regarding the defective piece being shipped to the customer.
