SETC Bus not turning up at ASARGANA
I had booked a ticket to Trichy from Chennai CMBT by route No 123UD under Trip Code 2245CHETRI bearing PNR no T3865599 on 22 12 12 by online booking. I had noted from the service details that the bus passes through Asargana and the departure time at Asargana was stated as 23.15. While booking online there was no provision to select the boarding point and hence I assumed that the bus would come anyway come to Asargana.
However to know where exactly I should wait at Asargana I was trying the following numbers that were available in the website 044 30986319, 044 5364656, 044 24794705 from 6 pm to 8 pm but got no reply.
I went to Asargana bus stop at about 10.30 pm and stood near the pedestrian subway / statue after ascertaining from a lot of people in the bus stop. I also kept trying the above numbers to ascertain the place of stop as there was no board or indication any where. At about 11.00 pm I got a reply from 24794705 but the person was so rude and was not willing to guide as to where I should wait. After 11.15 since I got worried, I repeatedly called the number who once said that the bus has left Koyambedu but was very rough to guide me. Since may other route buses of SETC were going past without stopping in Asargana, and this particular never passed by, I got worried and as I had to take to some bus to Trichy, I decided to got to Tambaram and boarded a local bus but simultaneously kept trying the Koyambedu number. The phone was not answered many times and was cut sometimes. While I had crossed Pallavaram the person at the other end answered the call and shouted at me and asked me to come to Koyambedu . But since I had crossed Pallavaram I decided to go to Tambaram and contact the SETC booth. When I reached Tambaram booth I was informed that the 2245 trip has not registered at Tambaram booth and they rudely informed that if the boarding point is not mentioned the bus need not come to Asargana and that they can go by any route. I tried to reason out saying that there was no provision in the online booking where I was asked about the boarding point but in vain. The 2320 bus arrived in Tambaram at that time which was overflowing with many passengers standing. They put me on to this bus and asked me to go to Perungalathur. When I arrived in Perungalathur booth at about 12.00 midnight, I found that the 2245 bus had not registered even there with the timekeeper. The personnel manning this booth were also very rude arguing that buses need not register with the time keeper and they do not know whether the 2245 bus has gone or not. Finally he contacted the Koyambedu Office and talked badly about me over phone and advised Koyambedu Office to arrange for 2 seats in the next bus. Finally I was permitted to Board a bus at 2.37 am (midnight) the next day and I managed to reach Trichy at 9.00 am on 23 12 12 and many of the programmes I had planned for could not be done.
Will the people responsible compensate me for all the hardship and damage to me on account of delay in reaching Trichy .
During the two hour wait at Perungaluthur, I observed that many of the so called long distance Ultra Deluxe buses were running with passengers standing and sitting in the pathway throughout causing hardship to all the people who had reserved seats. Is this done with the permission of the Management.
I request the concerned authorities to conduct an enquiry as to how buses are operated this way and innocent people are treated so rudely by these staff who are appointed to serve the people.
